Persian Question

Hi- i am new to this or any cat site. Have a 4 year old persian. of late he has decided to poop either on the carpet or on my couch? litter box is clean and he just had his 1 year checkup? is it just a behavior thing? can anyone shed anything on to this?

Have you really wracked your brain about what might have changed - tiny little things can bother cats that we don't consider, whether it be something about their territory, the smell of a new cleaning product, different litter, or duvet, someone's big shoes indoors(!), anything, and it can really help to try and track it down.

wracked my brains a million times about stuff like that. its not all the time. just every once in awhile- almost like he is too lazy to walk to the litter box. we even had plastic bags on the couch and he moved the bag and did #2 on the couch in a tiny spot
