DH and I were trying to catch this sweet, friendly stray on Sunday. Unfortunately the little guy is very wary of the trap. He's so funny - when he sees us, he meows at us, kneads the ground and rolls over and shows us his belly, but won't let us actually approach him.
Anyway, so we had the trap out and were watching him, and he had the entire front half of his body in the trap, when another cat came by!
So he backed out of the trap and followed this cat to make sure he went away. He walked right by the car (we were in the front seats), then jumped right onto the hood!!!
He was sitting there just watching everything, then DH and I both let out a little snicker, and he turned his head toward us, jumped a mile high, and flew off as fast as his little legs could carry him. We were howling with laughter. The look on his face was priceless.
After that he wouldn't go near the trap again, so we packed up and came home. We'll try again though, I think he'll be a lovely pet once he trusts people.
