Carter has made it to Heaven

Gosh, it's been a week since he has died and I still try not to think of him so I won't cry all day long.
He was such a cute and lovely cat, but i guess way older than we thought.
The last few days he didn't eat or drink anymore, no litterbox, either...and whenever I went to the vet, all she could do was give him fluids and keep him warm :-( *sniff*
So when hubby woke me up at 5 am last monday and said, Honey -Carter is dead, at first I mumbled something about "thank God, it's over for him" and then the meaning sunk in and I cried my heart out Just writing this brought me to tears again...Well, just wanted to let you know about it; haven't written in a long time, but here everything is just chaos and stress, so I'm asleep the moment my head hits the pillow...but this i had to share with you folks!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I think your first comment shows how much you really loved him. I remember when Smokey died I was very sad, but also relieved that she was out of pain. I still don't know what was harder her leaving, or watching her struggle.
