I have had my kitties on Innova Evo for a couple month now and they had contant diarrhea, Bestia was barfing up her food at least once a week, they pooped all the time, and when they went it stank up the entire apartment and I had to light matches to cover the smell.

Anyways, I was at the pet store the other day and was looking at the cat foods. I ended up buying some Nature's Variety Prairie(lamb and oatmeal formula) and switching their food immediately! Hubby and I couldn't stand one more stinky poo or barf pile!

Well, as of the next night there have been no stinky poos or barfs!!!:claps:

I'm sure they'll have diarrhea for a little while yet since I switched their foods cold turkey. However, I'm not too worried about it since they have had diarrhea for the last couple months, I doubt a few more days(or weeks) will do much harm. :/

I just felt like posting this great news and also see if there is anyone else out there that has had trouble with Innova Evo?

I've never tried Innova Evo but isn't it really rich? When I feed Mattie & Chloe Chicken Soup, their poo is a LOT stinkier. I almost donated all the cans I had leftover right then and there (but I've been using them up slowly, alternating them).

Yes, it's really high quality. I feed it to my ferrets(along with 8-in-1 Ultimate Ferret Food) and they do fine on it, but my kitties just can't seem to handle it and neither can my nose, lol.

Mine have been on Evo for 5 days and it's been smelly diarrhea every day.
I'll give it till the end of this week, but if it continues, I'm calling the vet and switching their food.

My fear is that they are getting dehydrated. I do have tons of water out for them, and they are always drinking from their fountain, but it still scares me. I wish I could just watch them have normal bowel movements!!! (If this is what it's like for cats... I can't imagine what it is for kids!!)

I had the same problem with the EVO. I knew it was rich, so I switched VERY slowly, but as soon as I finished the switch, it was stinky explosive diarrhea.

My cats have been on Evo for a little over 2 weeks now. No runny poo whatsoever. They're on 100% Evo now. Switched from Purina Indoor Formula. I've never smelled more stinky poo in my life but yeah, it's not runny.

Wow, I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one here having this problem!

I switched them REALLY slowly, but it didn't help.

Maybe it's just too rich for most cats to handle. :/

Yeah, I think it is too rich especially for younger cats since their digestive system is more sensitive than adults? (That's what the vet told me anyway).

I did a food trial with wet + dry Innova Evo for both my cats and the male can't handle it, so now I have to find a different brand.

Sassy is only 4 months old, 3 months when she got started on Evo. Could be true for some cats but not all younger cats have problems with it.

You're right. It's not all cats, young as old, that have problems with it. Forgot to add a "some" in there
I just meant in my case it didn't work out.

How long do you think I should keep mine on it? I've been switching them over for 3 weeks, and they've been on straight Evo for 6 days. The diarrhea is just constant at this point, and I feel so bad for them.

Ty was fine on Science Diet i/d; but Pix wasn't. That's why I tried switching them to something they could both eat. But apparently Evo is not working for either of them.

I'd rather stay away from SD, but if it works for them, how can I not give it to them? But the i/d wasn't working for Pix anyways, so I have no idea what to do. I'm calling the vet in the morning.

I fed EVO about a year or so ago, didn't have diarrhea problems but weight gain and smelly poos. I wonder if they made the formula even richer since I stopped using it.
