Hey all,
this is a really interesting article. I had always thought that bartonella species only caused disease in humans, one of which is Cat Scratch Disease.
However this past weekend while helping with a rescue and placement of a senior stray I was made aware of this disease.
Seems Bartonella can cause plasma cell stomatitis ( causing tooth loss) as well as Uveitis and nasty skin lesions. The cat we rescued looked just like the senior cat in the last photos.

Just wanted to put this out there in case anyone comes across this in one of their cats or especially while doing TNR.
