I am going to my first cat show this weekend. I'm entering my DSH kitten. I made a list of things I should bring, but I was wondering if anyone can take a look and see if I'm forgetting something I should have along?

To Bring

Blanket/Cage Coverings (is it ok to just use a blanket for the outside part?)
Clips to hold covering
chamois
Cat Bed
Litterbox
Litter
Food/Water dishes
Food
Eye wipes
Brush
Bath Wipes
Cat Carrier
Disinfectant
Paper Towels
Pen
Chair
Water bottles (for me)
Camera
Book to read

If this is your first show, you wont need the book to read but bring it anyway!
List looks good, can't think of anything else you might need at the moment!

its ok, but personally matching towels (3) for the inside cage part and a towel for the top and the bottom work a lot better - its more lightweight then a blanket - blanket may be too "hot"

Clips to hold covering
chamois
Cat Bed
Litterbox
Litter
Food/Water dishes I'd bring a bottle of water from home for the kitten
Food
Eye wipes
Brush
Bath WipesShould be unnecessary unless you are thinking of a possible accident
Cat Carrier
Disinfectant
Paper Towels
Pen
Chairchairs are provided

Water bottles (for me)
Camera
Book to read

Would also have cat nail clippers and a comb as well as the brush

Just went through my show bag:

A lint/pet hair remover if you're fussy about your clothes!

Also, add on qtips (or cotton pads) and ear cleansers just in case.

A shawl or throw, jumper, sweater (you know what I mean) for you! Some show halls are COLD!

Also, be careful about clips. If it's a CFA show, binder clips are not allowed if I'm not mistaken, will check on that!

Thanks everyone! I've added the things people mentioned so far to my list.
I was thinking of using a thin/lightweight fleece blanket for the top of the cage, it's probably as light as a towel if not lighter. I don't have any nice-looking towels and the ones I saw at the store were kinda crummy as well...

The bath wipes I thought would be good to bring just in case. My kitten has white feet so it's better to be prepared!

As for chairs, do they have extra chairs or is it just one per cage/exhibitor? Are they like metal folding chairs (uncomfortable)?
A family member might come with me so I thought we might need to bring an extra chair for them. At any rate I'll probably just throw one of our collapsing fabric chairs in the car just in case.

could it perhaps be the tica show this weekend in Raleigh?

If so, I'll be there with my solid black Household Pet Luna.

Those black binder clips are ok to pin up the curtains on the cages. I used them all the time. Where did you get the idea about them not being acceptable in CFA?

Also bring along an extra towel or two for the bottom of the cage if you need to change (food/water spills). I don't leave the food/water in the cage - I offer it several times a day. (1) you don't have to worry about spills and (2) no one can put something bad in either the water or food!

Chairs - its usually one per exhibitor - but I just swipe one from the closest ring for DH
Depends on what chairs the hall has for use - can be comfortable or wooden/metal folding chairs, so throw your chair in the back and wait and see what is there before you bring in your own chair

Show rules! Let me quote it
However, I admit is concerns the Judging cages and not benching...

Quote: Show Rules May 1,2007 - April 30, 2008,Article XV, 15.08h

"...Binder clips, regardless or their size or strength, or the number used, are not acceptable. ..."

So Nekochan, you're safe!
