my cats snatched my pop bottle cap (from a 20 oz bottle) and today it has become their favorite toy...they are hitting it back and forth to each other and carrying it around in their mouth. I am debating on whether I need to take it away - do you see a pop bottle cap as something they could choke on, or is it too big?

Thanks for the input. That's funny that that little piece of plastic can be such fun for our kitties. I was mean and took the cap away before going to bed, but might give it back for a little bit...or see if they like my gatorade lid, too.

Definitely too big for a kitty, but if you have any resident dogs, make sure to pick them up when the kitties are done playing with them because they could most definitely choke on them!

hehe. Chloe's favorite thing lately is the caps for my contact lens cases.

Have you tried giving them the pull-tie that you remove when opening a new jug of milk? The plastic ring? Moses loves these. We have about 2,846 laying around the house.

Mine LOVE those...but then they proceed to chew them into teensy little peices, so then I have to vacuum up after their play session with those!!! They don't get the milk rings anymore!!!

Gatorade lids are a bit bigger and less of a worry. Most cats are fine with pop bottle lids - just remember that some male cats tend to have a bit bigger mouths and some cats have big mouths anyways. So choking is possible.

And be careful walking around in the dark. Lid + bare feet can hurt.
