I thought I adopted Bengals but I was told on here that they may not be Bengals.

My main issue is I am allergi to cats. SO is my brother. but since Bengals are supposed to be Hypoallergenic I thought wow..I can have a cat and pet it to!

I havent had any reaction to these cats. My brother would normally have ot go to the hospital after just going to someones house with cats(he stops breathing and passes out). but he hasnt had a problems

should I be worried. ? I have had both cats since thursday.. picking them up patting them snuggling them. I held the girl the whole ride home in a closed car without so much as a hive. .

I'm confused, I thought you already had 2 cats before you adopted the 2 new ones? Why are allergies all of a sudden a concern?
Are your other 2 outside-only?

There are lots of things you can do to handle allergies. Medication, HEPA filters, keep cats out of bedroom permanently, brushing daily and using a defurminator brush once a week, there's something you can wipe their fur with (I forget the name), etc.

(Oh and I saw your other thread, your 2 new babies look like domestic short hairs to me, not Bengals. They are beautiful though!)

Have you been tested specifically for a cat allergy?

I am allergic too, but Siamese do not bother me as much...I just take a claritin daily and clean the house more often!(Hm, something I needed to do anyway!)

its not sudden a concern. It was just a question of interest. Our other two cats are indoor outdoor and I have gotten used to them but I cant pick them up and cuddle them without swelling up. And wheezing. I have had this reaction to every cat. but I havent had a single problem with Ben and Gal. Its just weird since they are not true bengals.

And yes I have been tested for cat Allergys.

I am sensitive to both long hair and short hair. just not these two. Well its nice to be able to cuddle with these two.
