Hi, I have had Misty for a while now and I have noticed something a little weird. She lays for hours on the bed or chair or whatever like she is dead to the world in a deep sleep but when I look she has her eyes half open like she is looking right at me but she is asleep. Can they sleep with theirs eyes part way open? Misty sure looks to me like she does.

I think they can, as Brandy and Arwen do that quite often. They seem to behave like us, as some people can sleep like it too.

Yep, Stumpy does it as well! It's quite freaky
Especially when her eyelids start twitching!

I think all cats sleep with their eyes partly open, I see Spikey do it before and he creeps me out when he does it...

Ferris slept with his eyes open for almost the first year I had him - I think it was because his feral momcat taught him to ALWAYS be on the lookout for danger.

Now he sleeps with his eyes closed up tight.

I know some human children that sleep with their eyes open a little bit - it IS really weird to see!

It is a little creepy for me also. Misty looks like she is dead to me when she sleeps with her eyes open. Cozmo is on the other end of the scale, he almost always covers his eyes with his front feet when he sleeps.
