Hairballs + Constipation? Remedies?

Okay,

My cat has a really hard time with hairballs and constipation. She tends to really hate the remedies I buy at the store... so I was wondering if anyone had any homemade remedies I could try?

I used liquid parafin when Blossom was a baby, & it got things moving. My mum always used it for the cats when there was nothing else.
