Hi,
my and my partner are moving to a hot country soon. We have two cats, one is almost 2 years old and the other one is almost 12. We have the passport and everything ready to go for the 2 years old cat, but we are not sure about the other. The problem is that, we live in a farm here and he always has been very independant, he goes out at night and comes back whenever he is hungry. In this country we are moving to we will live in a flat for one or two years, and we are very scared that our older cat will not get use to this. Also we have been told that the trip (about 2 hours in plane) will be very hard for him, as he has never left the farm.

He has only been in the vet once, when he was 4 and was run over by a car, and had a hips opperation, so we are also nervous about taking him to the vet to get the microchip and the vaccinations, as he can be a bit aggresive.

Could someone please give us some advice? If our cat stays here there will still be people around, but not in the house, and he will have to live outside and on its own for the rest of his live, but we are worried about the heat in this new country and dont know if he will get used to this and to live in a flat and not be let out.

Please let us have your comments about what to do.

Regards

a

Is there a home and family nearby that could take over feeding him and provide him with a shelter? That seems like the best more doable solution.
