He lost his fight with feline leukemia today at 7 years old. He was born with the virus and was a true blessing in my life. He was put to sleep a few hours ago, he was dying on the way to the vet. I just had to burry him. He was my angel and I will miss him so much. I am having the hardest time dealing with this..I can't stop crying. I feel like I have lost a child and my heart is broken.
My angel will suffer no more

I just want to thank all of you for being so warm and kind.
I am very glad I found this website.
So many feel that "It's just a pet" and don't understand.
It's so nice to hear from others who have that deep compassion and love their cat's as much as I loved mine. Such a beautiful thing.

Thank you

I am so sorry to hear of your loss - 7 is a very good age for FeLV+ cats though, so it shows how much love and care you gave him, and he truly was a gorgeous cat. RIP little one. Feel free to talk as much as you need, sadly the majority of us know what you are going through, and we dont think it is 'just a pet' - the people who can say that haven't been blessed with the love and devotion of a pet.

I am new to this site. But it is always sad to read that someone has lost a much loved member of the family. If you look up into the night sky and see the brightest shining star. That is your beloved Gizmo looking down on you saying. Thank you for being my mommy. R.I.P Gizmo little angel.

You need to grieve for a pet if you consider him/her a part of the family. It IS like losing a child. People who don't understand that just haven't taken the time to get that special bond (or don't want to take the time to). We are here for you if you want to talk, vent, cry..whatever. We all understand.

Gizmo was a gorgeous boy, and still is at RB. And rest assured, he loves you as much as you love him and will be waiting for you.

Your sweet boy is so adorable. You must have taken good care of him for him to have lived with you so long. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Im so sorry!! Gizmo was/is beautiful... Its not easy losing a child! My kitties are my children also, so instead of just having 3 kids, I have 6, more if you count my babies that passed last year. You must have fought hard to have him live so long, and he must of too. We're here for you... I lost my Glitch Nov 16th at 2:35pm to FIP. He left a whole in my heart in his shape!

Bless him

I`m so sorry for your loss. Some people just can`t understand that when you love and care for a pet they become a character and not `just a cat`. Who`s lives are richer?

RIP Gizmo

Condolences on your sad loss of Gizmo - at least you gave him a quality life and he acheived adulthood. Only love and dedication could have done that. I know how it hurts - although you know he is in a better place, pain-free and in a land of no sorrow, forever, still the empty hole in your heart exists, and when his pain ended, yours began. Play happily over Rainbow Bridge, Gizmo
