Or maybe the chose to ignore. This morning like ever other morning Isaac was sitting in the middle of the door way from the bathroom to my bedroom. So as usual I said, "Excuse me, please move, your in the way." Like every other morning he sat there looking at me. So then I said my usual, "Or just sit in the way, what ever works best for you."
So I realized that maybe he just doesn't understand what I'm saying. Now they all understand, Who's hungry. So what phrases don't your cats understand?

Some phrases I have given up on... Sibohan never listens to these

"leave the dog alone"
"stop softening my boob"
"cats don't eat at the table"
"get your butt out of my face"
"If the ladbug tastes bad don't eat it"
"Stop flushing the toilet!" (normally I use this one when I'm in the shower)

Some of my phrases that I use regularly, that never seem to work:

"Get off the counter!"
"Get off the dog bed!"
"Get your butt out of my face!"
"Stop digging your claws in my leg!"
"You can't seriously be hungry again already??"

"Get away from the budgie!"
"Stop teasing the dog!" (Shark does it too much
)

Amos does not understand:
"You have food already, you don't need more"

Did you ever see that Far Side cartoon that was "What dogs hear" then "What cats hear"? The dog heard "blah blah blah Rover." The illustration of what the cat heard was a blank bubble. That's my cats.

Thinking about it, I've realized mine really don't get:

Go away Mom's trying to sleep or
It's 2:00 AM Mommas sleeping, you'll get fed later.

Popsie doesn't understand,
"Mommy's sleeping, shut up and lay down."
"No, you can't have what I'm eating."
I can't think of anything else right now.

I believe that they understand perfectly. They choose not to pay attention.

Butzie chooses not to hear:

"Don't terrorize my budgies!"
"Stop licking your chops when you look at my budgies!"
"Mommy wants to sleep." (I think that this is a common not listened to phrase)
"Stop meowing. You are not going outside."

Well...things I say to Hobbit but he never understands..

"Oi, leave Spikey Alone"
"OWWWWWW" (I use that when he thinks my foot is food - or thinks my leg is a scratching post)
"Heyyy, come here"
"Get away from the gerbals"
"Stay" (I use that when Im leaving tha living room and dont want him to follow)
"You'll get chucked outta the window if you dont behave" (I think he knows im not serious.....)
"Give me kisses" (Hardly works...only if I have a treat in my hand and he wants it"
