I really have nothing to add, just wanted to say bless your heart for caring so much for not only Bea but for all the other cats you've helped.

Speaking of helping cats..how's the boy with ring worm doing?
Sorry but for the life of me I can't remember his name.
Or am I getting you mixed up with someone else?
Once you hit 30 your mind goes

There's just no way....ever....Bea will be euthanized. I'd find a way, the bedroom is better than dead! I'm guaranteeing she'll be safe....unless she's terminal. And not terminal like running out of time.....but like terminal cancer. (She greeted me when I went to change my clothes after work)

Squishy is the boy with ringworm, who didn't really have ringworm. He's got until his fur grows back in completely & until it warms up to find an indoor home, or I've got no option but to make him a farm kitty (and not by my choice). He has no sores. He's also learned not to bite, unless you try to rub his tummy or touch the one side where he had such bad spots. He likes to lounge on the couch & get petted from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail.

I still think it is worth a very low dose of MEtacam for a bit longer - I used it on a 12/13 yo cat, and he had bloods done after he finished and he got a clean bill of health (he has been in his new home over a year, and is still in perfect health - and he was overweight for a long time too). IT does sound like it is a pain reaction, and she just needs longer to get over the pain of the surgery.

I just gave her a new write-up....adding the no kids thing:

She is a larger kitty, so requires a very large litterbox to accommodate her large behind!
It's hard to believe she can turn so quickly looking at that picture... but knowing her history I don't blame her. Clearly her paws still hurt her very much or perhaps it's phantom pain. You bumped her paw and she expected it to hurt so out of reflex she bit?!

Last night I was sleeping & she just plain old bit me. I wasn't even touching her, she moved across the bed & bit me. Moves swiftly for such a heft kitty in pain!

I'm assuming she's now going to become a biter, I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm encouraging her to move more, she's very sedentary. Just lays on my bed, or flattens the catnip banana more. I put her on top of the cat tree & she made her own way down (it's only 2 levels). I played with the laser light last night, and she just sat there pawing at it, wouldn't run after it.

Bea sounds like she is either not well or depressed.
I feel for both of you.

Well, I shaved her bum tonight myself with the shaver shears thing I got from the shelter. She just laid there. She's used to it...and it was noisy! She's obviously been shaved before....

I'm going to shave some mats out & be much more pro-active on grooming. Try daily wipe downs....and comb her 2x a day. Get her up & going more....Da Bird, laser light....whatever it takes. Make her beautiful again!

I hope that it gives her more interest in life Nat, it would be awful if she gave up on life.

Nat we know you wouldn't give up on her. She's been through too much already for you to let her go now

I am like this gushy meowmy here.

I brought Bea out of my bedroom today. Shut all the other kitties outta the office. There's southerly windows in the office, gets great sunshine. I had put a fleece blanket on the top of a bookshelf that was right at window height. We had a photo shoot!

Finally, her eyes don't glow! With proper lighting, I can show you guys how beautiful she really is
I am so proud of my girl right now, I am about to cry!!

At first she was really worried, and the sun kept messing up the pics
Then she relaxed a ton

Then I tossed a toy in there to see what she'd do....she ignored it, of course!

Have I ever mentioned how tolerant she is?

There are those gorgeous eyes I could never capture

This, this is for you who made it possible....for the donation. Know it was worth it....

And after it all, she's too fat to fit on the windowsill very well. She fell down....no bigger. She sure went after Mandy, the foster dog though!

And now I'm off to do some picture cropping so that I can get the new Bea pics on the internet to show off my girl!!

Oh, how lovely to see her supporting herself on the window sill, and looking unconcerned over her shoulder! Lovely pics, Nat. Thanks for sharing.

She really is a pretty girl. Seeing her little toes sticking out from under all that fur make me wanna kiss them... of course, that's one thing she probably wouldn't tolerate and my nose would get chomped... but it'd be worth it I bet. Give her
for me please!

I have a hard time not kissing those toes, too. I braved it once & have a fang hole in my forehead as a result.
