Oh yeah, the title of this thread says it all. No-name is usually not the way to go in our house. We got a huge can of ground from Tim Horton's and it is very good. We like Nabob too - the cheaper stuff is just not fun. It does the 'trick' caffeine wise but that's about it.

I import my coffee from Finland (or a website that specializes in Finnish wares).... haven't found anything else like it in the States, I guess there is a place in Door County, Wisconsin that comes close.

I would love the website, if you're willing to share! My mother is Finnish and am looking for ideas for her upcoming birthday.

We purchased a Tassimo Coffee Machine that uses individual coffee discs. We really love it. Right now we have a choice of Starbucks, Nabob, Maxwell French Vanilla, Twinings and Gevalia in our kitchen. I mix the hot chocolate with the espresso and make myself a Mochachino.

We love the variety and Rob and I can have a different coffee a day without getting in the car - and it's way cheaper!

I've been dying to get a Tassimo, but hubby keeps insisting on "Fair Trade" coffee only, and I haven't seen any of the discs with those brands.

I'm a coffee lover/snob/addict.

I'm currently experimenting around with different coffee brands...Caribou Coffee is non-existant in NJ!
They were my fav brand.

Starbucks is second choice, but I have to drive...literally 10 miles to get to one. So I've been buying Dunkin' Donuts, which flavor wise isn't that bad, however it just doesn't wake me up.
I just got another one called New England Coffee that is pretty good in flavor. Needed a back up for my coffee maker at work
I got the "Eye Opener" blend. I made it took light this morning though...I forgot a tablespoon.

I work in a coffee shop so I know exactly what you mean!!!!

Did you know coffee starts to loose its' flavor as soon as it is ground? If you can find somewhere that has unground beens that are inexpensive you should get those and grind them yourself at the store. You'll be so happy!

Also keep in mind that Arabica beens are the beans with good taste and flavor and Robusta beans are for caffine. Most times you will find them mixed together, but Robusta beens are less flavorful. I'm not sure if the containers say (they should) but I can almost bet that cheaper brand is mostly Robusta beans because they are known for being bitter.

I'm addicted to Coffee Fool. For unflavored coffee, my usual is Ethiopian Harrar in a French Press, but I also like to make cappuccinos with their Pacific Espresso. Their Wallenford Estate Jamaican Blue Mountain is to die for, but so is the price tag. Also, their Extra Fancy Kona is the best Kona I've ever tried. I can't drink store bought coffee. I never have. Before I discovered that fresh Arabica coffees weren't bitter, I didn't drink coffee at all. Now it is one of those little daily pleasures I can't imagine living without.

I am SO not a coffee snob. Or even a coffee gourmet.

I'll admit I like it weaker than a lot of people do. I use the big red Folgers Classic Roast stuff.

I hate overly strong coffee. A good example, to me, is McDonald's coffee. I've heard it praised, but it's just too bitter for me.

My brother teases me about drinking tea, not coffee!

We were at a friend's house, and he gave us coffee. We asked for cream/milk and sugar, and he said (jokingly), "If I'd known you wanted a milkshake, I would have made you a milkshake!"

I saw ones that you could make your own disc with at Best Buy recently. Kind of like empty tea bags. Maybe you could convince him if you did that?

I'm the only coffee drinker at our house. I LOVE those new Folgers Gourmet coffees, but generally only buy one if I have a coupon.
Wal-mart's store brand colombian is pretty good. I buy that when I'm on a really tight budget. I really want to try the new Black Silk coffee I keep seeing commercials for. I like strong coffee, but I tend to like Colombian coffee the best. Yuban Dark Roast is one of my absolute favorite coffees.

If the budget is tight--and you want to make a flavored coffee. Sprinkle some cinnamon in the ground coffee before you brew it. It's pretty good.

I'm with your mom - I hate chicory in coffee. Hubby loves the smell of coffee but not so much the flavour - he's a tea drinker. I love my coffee. I don't brew a pot of coffee just for myself so I usually drink Taster's Choice instant at home but at the office I brew a lovely 100% Columbian coffee (I know - not politically correct but it tastes wonderful). It's lovely.
