I was talking to one of my good friends today and she said that she had given up ice cream for Lent. This is going to be a struggle for her as I think she has it as a meal at least 4 times a week.
I am not looking forward to being around her for the next little bit.

Did anyone here give up anything for Lent?

Nope, but I am not religous. I am also not very good at self control so that's a long time for me to not do something
!

I've been bad the past couple of years, and haven't given anything up. Several years ago I gave up chocolate, and actually lost about 10 pounds!

Meat from Wednesdays to Fridays (I've always wanted to do meat free all Lent but found out through a medical test that I shouldn't do that
) and cutting out TV for at least 30 minutes a night to pray.

Plus, I'm working on simplifying my life a little from all the distractions - starting with no TV on while I'm trying to fall asleep!

I'm very bad at giving things up for Lent, so instead, I took something up. I'm walking around the block ten times each day. (That's about an hour and a half).

No, not this year. I've done it for fun (or at least for non-religious reasons) in the past. I'm already trying to exercise and eat healthy- I figure that's enough for now! My mom is a strict practicing Catholic, so I'm assuming she's given up something...I should ask her...

I am not religious at all. I used to try to give up cookies when I was younger but it usually only lasted a few days.

I haven't given up anything such as a favourite food or activity for a long time. Lately I prefer to identify a habit or behaviour I'd like to modify or stop, and use Lent as a time of practising that discipline. I find that really helpful. I haven't settled on one yet for this year, but it's never too late.

I've given up chocolate. Given that I eat lots of chocolate every day, this is going to be very hard for me! But I am succeeding so far
Already dreaming about easter eggs though.
