Photographing a black cat with little, squinty eyes is REALLY hard, even with a good camera.

I finally got a good tip - hold some white paper in front of the flash to help diffuse the flash. Not only does it diffuse it, but it stops it being so bright in her eyes, so she doesn't blink and therefore ruin the photo.

So heeeeeere's the REAL Smudge! This is how her little eyes look on a normal day.

Great picture Sarah! Does she have any trouble with her vision at all, and does that operation stop the hair growing back completely? She is a gorgeous girl

She doesn't have good depth perception, and she's pretty uncoordinated, which is most probably due to her eyes. She's still the sweetest kitty we've ever met.

The operation was supposed to stop the hair growing back but she squints a lot more than right after the surgery, and she seems to have some fur touching her eyes still. We put lubricating eye drops in her eyes every night otherwise they get really dry.

I love Smudge, I hope she doesn't need another operation.
