2 amazing videos! Locust swarm and cicada singing up close!

I found these videos on Youtube.

The first is a funny video of a family trapped in there car while a swarm of locusts (grasshoppers) flies all around them.

The second video is of a cicada singing, but the people taping had it singing on there screen window! Hearing a cicada up close is nothing like when there in the trees. Think of a chainsaw on and bird singing at the same time, pretty loud and thats what it sounds like ! Last 2 minutes have the cicada singing.

Hmm that second video doesnt sound like a locust??

The second is a cicada. The first is of the locusts. They are different insects.

I felt so bad for the kid in the car with the locust. Couldn't the dad have said "it will be ok" instead of "OMG, they're attacking us!!!" But that was pretty cool. I've never seen a swarm before.

The cicada, once it finally started singing, was pretty. It actually reminded me of a video game. I remember the last time the came out in 2004 and how noisy they were. I'm glad I got to hear just the song from just one.
