I am puzzled about my cat. For the last 4 years, he has some days, where he constantly makes some very "violent" gulps. Not when he eats though. It is mostly provoked by him when he is purring.
He eats perfectly normal. The only thing that seems to indicate that there is something in his throat, is that he has trouble when he tries to vomit. Nothing comes up most of the time. he has abit habit of swallowing it again...
I consulted the vet once when it started, and she said it was caused by a tooth-stone, which they removed by surgery.
He has been happier since then, but the gulping and swallowing vomit still continues. i took him to the vet again a few months back. They looked in his throat. Nothing seemed to be blocking.
I wonder what is causing it?
