I am conflicted and need some advice. I have a cryptoorchid kitty. He's going on 5 months in a few days. He's been showing a lot of alpha behaviour lately and his urine is definitely stinky. He sprayed in the bathroom when he accidently got locked in, and even with cleaning there is a remnant of the hidious odor.

I am wondering if I should have him neutered now, or wait another month? Advantages/disadvantages? Otherwise, the little one is very healthy and spritely!

I had Leo done at 4 months, and he had the easiest time of it of any cat I have ever had. His whole life he was like a big, goofy kitten, and the vet said it could have been because he did not reach sexual maturity before he was neutered.

If he's already showing signs of manhood, I would just go ahead and have him neutered now. It may be a little more expensive, but I am sure it will be well worth it to you and him. It's just like a female getting spayed when they go to get the one that hasn't dropped.

My youngest Siamese male, Hercules, is 7 months old and his second testicle just dropped. If your cat only has one testicle dropped, the other should drop between 7-8 months of age. Hercules hasn't started spraying YET, hopefully he never will...praying... I would wait until your kitty is 8 months old just in case the testicle drops. If it does, getting him fixed will cost you alot less!

I had a male that was cryptoorchid i had him nutered as soon as he started showing male behavior. They made a incision much like a female spay. They just have to going and find the other testee. Kitty was fine and it allwent ok. i had no problem with it.

He's definitely showing the beggining of dominant behavior and I have scheduled his surgery tommorow. Thanks for the feedback!
