Michele,
I have not been on the site - but you know that I have been praying for Andy's return - after all, he was one of the cats you adopted from me! And he is beautiful, sweet and wonderful - I hope he comes home.

I am praying as well. Don't give up hope!!!! When I lost my Squirt, he was gone for 2 weeks!!! I know exactly how you feel. It feels so empty. Keep looking for him and calling him. He could be closer than you think.

I am very sorry your dear friend Andy is not with you. I shall say a prayer for his safety. You are doing everything in your power to bring about a reunion, so don't give up all hope now! Indeed, having experienced such things myself when beloved cats have stayed away too long, it's very hard to cope with their absence; and it's equally hard to contemplate tragic outcomes.

Life in the woods is hard, as life in the city can be as well, for domestic cats who are away from home. We are here for Andy and you! We refuse to give up hope for his safe return.

Michelle I just want you to know that I am thinking of you and Andy and hoping for his safe return soon. I had a cat many years ago and she was gone for over a week and then one day there she was. So dont give up hope. Take care and let us know when he returns.

I am going to answer for Michele tonight - she is sad and worried that Andy is not going to come home. Her white cat Skylar came home the day Andy went missing as if something had almost caught her - she was filthy and very scared. She will not go outside, and this is a cat who came from the streets of Puerto Rico and loves to be outside. So Michele is feeling sad right now because she does not know what happened to Andy. Andy is a special cat - one of those clueless cats that would walk up to anyone and anything.

I also know Michele has been blown away by the wonderful comraderie of the cat site people - how so many people from so many places have offered their prayers and wishes for Andy's safe return. Such a common bond we have!

Anyway, Michele, we are all still thinking of you, and of course you know I love you and hope that Andy will still show up one of these days when you least expect it!

Michele; I came on late (or early depeding on how you look at it) to see if there was any news of Andy. I want to tell you that when I moved back to St. Louis, MO. from Wash. D.C. in 1977 we came half way across country by car with three cats. They did not like the trip in the dead of winter but we made it and when we pulled up in front of my sister's house (which was to be our new home) the one cat that I thought would adjust and be just fine; my Christopher an overweight, 10yr. old black, DMS; bolted from the car and ran down the block lickety split. I panicked because she was in a completely strange city and had just had a three day car trip to totally dis-orient her. I did everything to try an find her and it was in the dead of winter (Jan. in MO.can be brutal) I never gave up hope and never stopped praying for her and called and looked for her every single day. I know I don't have to tell you the lengths I went to to try and find her and I have not told this story prior in your pleas for Andy because I did not want you to think it may take this long, but Michele, I tell you now; that early one morning, before it was even full light, 4 months after Chistopher had run away confused, when I had all but feared she would never be with me again; I was hanging out some blankets on the outdoor clothesline to take advantage of the May sunshine and Christopher came dragging up to the backyard gate so thin and frail she could barely meow; but she had come back to me! I nearly fainted with happiness and after a trip to the doctor a an intense period of loving care and extra nourishment; she completely recovered and lived to be 31+ yrs. old. God is so Good!!! and He wants Andy to be back home with you. . . . . . . . Never stop believing! :angel2:

My prayer continue, Darlene

Dearest Michele, :angel2:

Have you thought of calling the animal rescue to see if any other animals may have been mysteriously missing? I don't want to upset you, but, you have to know something at this point...I know I had to. I would see if there were some kind of correlation, but then again, it may be just a neighbor that loves your cat. This is just a thought. I'm sitting here racking my brains out. I don't know the area where you live, have no idea if there's woods.....things like that that maybe one of us are familiar with that we can help. Can you post some type of description of where your house is located ie: rural, city...density of the city or rural..subburbs..you understand I'm sure. Maybe one of us could help that way???? I don't know hon...all I do know is that I'm very concerned for you and Andy. My prayers are with you. :angel2:

Michele,

I am speechless! I read what Rene wrote and didn't know that Skylar also went out but came back. I got this gut wrench when you said he looke desheveled and scared like someone or something had gotten to her. I pray for Andy and you. I'm here for you, I hope you know that.

Catarina:

Rene is the local rescue organization and I am best friends with her so if anything was going on, I am sure we would have heard. But it was a great thought cause you know there are a lot of sickos out there. I live in a very wooded area. I have a back lot and live on 4 acres. And there is a 10 acre lot on one side of me and a five acre lot on the other side. Unfortunately there are also a lot of coyotes. I hear them every night. I make sure all of my cats are in at night. The last time I saw Andy was Monday morning, I called him at dinner time and he did not come, so I don't think a coyote got him because he disappeared sometime during the day and my three dogs are outside in the fenced in area and I would hope a coyote wouldn't come near the house with them there. But that is not to say he didn't wander off the property. I am still hoping that a neighbor took him in but my husband and I put flyers in ALL of our neighbors mailboxes and we did not get a single call. I would hope that if a neighbor had him they would call me but who knows. Andy is beautiful and is very friendly. Believe me I really appreciate your concern. You have been great to me and I appreciate everything you have done and all of your prayers. I just wish I knew what happened. I am also afraid for my other cats. I don't let my cat Emily out anymore and like I said before Skylar will not go out anymore. I just know that my other cats would not be happy staying in doors all of the time. There are four others that go out. I thought it was safe. I just feel so guilty letting him out but he wanted so much to go out. Thanks again for caring.

Thank you. I really appreciate it. It means alot to me that my friends are sticking by me when I need them the most. Skylar did worry me. She will not go out anymore and if she does she sits on the front steps for 5 minutes and wants to come back it. Something happend but I don't know what. It might have been my neighbors dog but I have only seen him on my property once, and he is a black lab and pretty friendly. Who knows.

We are all still praying for your Andy and that wherever he is, he is safe and comes home soon.

I'll tell you, my Mishu was adopted after being left outside to fend for himself for at least a month - maybe two. At first we had been letting him outside, against my better judgement. We live in a big complex and when he went missing (around the same time Andy did, actually) and then came back after almost two days (something he NEVER did before) that cinched it. Since then, I took him to the vet for his shots and decided that both of the cats are staying indoors, no matter how much my softie hubby wants to let Mishu out to play. He has been inside since and although he seems somewhat peeved about it sometimes, hearing what you are going through and having lost him for only two days - I just couldn't take a scare like that ever again.

Mishu goes for his neutering on Friday, June 2nd and hopefully that will help make his full-time indoor transition a little more bearable. I had been really tormented by trying to decide whether to keep him inside or allow him to go out during the day because I know he REALLY loves it out there, but your experience makes me believe that there is no safer place for them than in our home. We'll be moving to a bigger place soon with carpeted stairs for them to play on and I convinced my handy hubby to build them a kitty condo... That plus all the window seats they have should be plenty of entertainment for them.

Mishu is a very smart cat and I swear he understands me when I talk to him (yes I talk to him!)... I told him and Jo (my girl) about Andy and I know they are both thinking of him to and praying for his safe return (silly as that may sound, I feel it's true).

I am not a hugely religious person, but I am spiritual and I have had you in my thoughts since your first post. Your Cat Site family is with you in spirit and if there is ANYTHING that ANY of us can do, please don't hesitate to ask! I think I speak for most (if not all) of us when I say that we will do anything within our power to help!

much love!
K&J, Mishu & Jo
