I Got Cat Pee In My Mouth!

Hi I'm new. I caught my cat peeing on a chair in my house, and when I got near her she jumped away. Some of the cat pee from her paws when on my face and on my lips, I freaked out and rinsed my lips off with dawn, 3 times! Should I worry, I don't want to get sick!

I doubt you personally have anything to worry about, but your cat peeing on a chair is not normal for a cat and indicative a UTI that should be checked by a vet, just as soon as possible.

Ewwww first off lol. Second off im sure you will be fine. I have had a similar thing happen to me with dog urine...That sounds so weird LMAO. But I agree with the above poster about the UTI.

thanks for the quick response. The cat is about two years old, and she has not been spayed, and I also have a male cat that is neutered. Could it also be that she is not spayed and having a male cat in the house?

oh gross You'll be fine, but chances are that something is wrong with her.

First, take her to the vet because she could be trying to tell you that something is wrong. It's very possible that she has a urinary tract infection (UTI). If she checks out fine at the vet, there are other issues to address to make sure she uses the litterbox (like type of box, number of boxes, type of litter, cleanliness of boxes, etc.)

Any plans to have her spayed?

Thats Gross. My brothers male peed on his head once and he is fixed. I have never had anything like that happen to me.

If she's not spayed, it could be that she is "marking". We have one cat that is a little over year and we're saving up to have her spayed, and she pees on things when she starts going into heat. If you have a neutered male cat, that wouldn't really cause it...she may just be "in the mood" and wants to advertise. I would take her a the vet to make sure she doesn't have an UTI though, just to be safe.

And you should be fine. As disgusting as it sounds, cat urine is safe for humans, especially fresh because it comes out sterile. From what I understand, it is only after it has been in the air that bacteria starts to grow (please, someone correct me if I'm wrong! I just read that somewhere.)
