Has anyone besides me noticed that things are pretty slim on TV now? There are not many new episodes of current shows. I especially do not like the "new" network shows which were the ones the networks rejected for the fall season. Yeah, there was a reason for that.
Anyway, just a TV fan who is frustrated and with a new HD TV too.

Before the strike I always thought that shows were written and filmed way in advance of a season.

I don't watch much on the main stream channels because there are just too darn many reality shows on them these days. So I tend to stick to the following networks:

movies
history
documentary
cooking
spike
diva
oldie channels

The shows that I do watch on mainstream channels are:

CSI (all shows)
Law and Order (all shows)
Numbers
NCIS
House
Criminal Minds
Grey's Anatomy
Moonlight

And I like those shows enough that I don't mind watching reruns. I'm also fortunate enough to have gone through a period of several years where I didn't watch any TV, so lots of the Law and Order shows are completely new to me, as are some other shows that are on TV that are now in reruns.

The writer's strike is a good time to start getting into other activities. If you don't like watching reruns, rather than sitting and watching something you aren't interested in, make an effort to do stuff around the house, take up a craft, join the gym..... etc.

Over the river and through the woods...
I hate this strike. I have my favorite shows I watch, and as pathetic as it is, I look forward to them all day. Fridays, I love Ghost Whisperer and Numbers, Wednesday night, it's Criminal Minds. Thursdays, it's ER. Well...I've been very disappointed...no new episodes in weeks. Thank goodness American Idol has started back up and NASCAR will be back in a few weeks! At least that gives me something to look forward to.

I'm just waiting for Heroes to come back on. It's the only Network show that I bother watching. Other than that, I just watch syndicated reruns of older shows and dvd's.

I watched maybe two episodes of the last season when they changed, but i think the strike meant not many episodes were played here anyway. I do actually miss it, and i hope when it comes back here that i'll get into it again. I absolutely LOVED the first season.

Some shows stockpiled episodes before the strike. And some, (Law & Order - basic) were scheduled to start their new seasons in January, so all of those episodes are brand new, as will be Lost.

Then there are the shows that were originally scheduled to be mid-season replacements anyway.....my favorite Jericho, finally coming back Feb. 12. Can't wait!!!!!
and a few others.

SAG isn't actually on strike, but are honoring whatever picket lines are up. And SAG is also watching this strike very carefully, contract negotiations are coming up, and it's interesting to see how producers are handling the writers.

I wish they'd just settle this darn thing. Time to go back to the bargaining table!! Reality programming is so not-creative!!

Survivor is coming back on and so is Big Brother... I wonder how they are going to have Big Brother when it is cold.
