I am kind of a wreck, I can't concentrate on work or anything. I know it's necessary, I know it's a routine procedure, I know it's in her best interest, etc. but still I don't like the idea of her being under anesthesia. She's such a tiny little baby (5 1/2 months old but I don't even think she's past 4 lbs yet). After we dropped her off this morning, my SO made the comment "I just feel like something is going to go wrong." (dumb SO!)

I know she'll bounce back but gaaah.

Now I know how all of you feel when you post about the very same thing.

Ok, that felt good to get out.

I picked her up and she is fine, just a little off-balance and hungry.
I don't know about this drowsniess business, she is maybe more active than when I dropped her off. It's going to be hard to keep her from jumping and doing things that are going to potentially cause problems for her stitches.

Thank you for your support
I missed her so much even though she was only gone for 10 hours, I was home all day and it was weird not having her there.

I'm such a worry wart that I purposely found a kitty on Petfinder that was already altered. I got him at 5 months with 1st shots, 1st rabies and neutered. A good buy for only $ 95.00. LOL.

I'm glad the op went smoothly. Roxy was done a month or so ago and I remember how nerve wracking it was. Roxy bit all of her stitches out & we were told off by the vet

Oh that is totally the way to go, you save so much $$$. Chloe was a Petfinder kitty too but was only 12 weeks when I adopted her and her foster mom is a believer in waiting until 6 months to spay/neuter. Aside from Mattie's acne, Chloe's initial vet bills have been much higher than Mattie's. More shots, spaying, feluk/fiv testing, etc.

The hard part about post-spay care for Chloe is that she is *such* an active little thing. She is trying to jump on counters and tables.
