I've got a cold, and I hate it. My head is all plugged up. My nose is running, and my head hurts. I almost wish I had a fever because then I would have had a good reason to stay home today. I'm at work until 4PM & then I've got class from 6-9 PM. We are supposed to have some not so great weather around here, so I'm praying we get out early tonight. I'm just getting so tired. It's the first night of class so there is no way I can miss.

I cannot help you now but in the future you may want to try what Linus Pauling, the Nobel Prize winner says to do: Take megadoses of vitamin C every day. I followed his advice and have not had a cold since. Sorry about your present condition and may you never have it again!

Ew, colds are bad enough you don't want fever and chills too.

I've been dealing with that for days - souvenir from my hospital stay apparently. DH just woke up with it today. Fever, chills, no appetite, bad headache, soreness, and chest congestion.

I hope you can get over your cold quickly, and please don't wish for the flu.

You are sick enough to stay home, and should ahve done so. Missing the first day of class is not that bad, and spreading your illness will just bring it back to you. Please wash your hands frequently or get some hand sanitizer, and be considerate of those around you. When you get home, have hot tea, a lot of it.

Have you tried Zicam before? I swear by that stuff - you are supposed to take it at the first sign of getting a cold, but it works when you have a full blown cold too
Its about $8 a box but it comes with a few different doses.
There are several different ways to take it - but I would check it out! You can find it at any store like WalMart or Walgreens too!

Oh, I thought it didn't do any good after the cold had started? I have taken it before when I felt a cold coming on and have avoided a lot of colds that way. I woke up with this one on Sunday so I thought there was no hope, but maybe I'll pick some up. I like the melts that you just pop in your mouth.

Sorry you feel ill :-(

The last time I got all icky and stuffed up I called my doc to see what he recommended- he said to take advil or some ibuprofin to keep the sinus cavities from swelling up and further clogging everything up. I took 2 pills every couple of hours or so for about a week (about 1000 mg daily). Now before I started the advil regimen, I would have sworn I had a sinus infection thats how much my head was swollen lol but once all that icky stuff was able to drain I was fine

Def check with the doc before taking that strength of ibuprofin though

Hope you feel better soon!

Me too. I have to stop at a store on the way home because I haven't had time to shop in a good two weeks. So I was going to eat out this evening. Now I'll stop and get something for dinner tonight & lunch tomorrow.

All the vibes & well wishes must have worked. I'm not 100% today, but much better. My head is still a little stuffy, but it no longer feels like it's going to explode. My energy level is back up too. Thanks every body. Now the key is to try and not catch a cold from anyone else around here why my immune system recovers.
