Hubby and I saw "Atonement" this weekend because it was nominated for best picture. We hated it. It is so artsy that, of course, it would be nominated. This picture, or one of the other important ones, will probably win, while the uplifting "Juno" probably will not.

Oh, and Keira Knigthly was so thin in this movie that "If you turn her sideways she will disappear" is a good description. Not a good role model for our daughters.

Ohmigosh. Almost painfully thin. I actually found how skinny she was a distraction.

I liked the movie. It's not my favorite of the year, by any means, but I thought it was interesting - good performances all around, IMO.

The movie of this year I absolutely hated was There Will Be Blood. Good grief, this movie has been built up to be a masterful work of monumental proportions. I found it an endless and self-indulgent (on the director's part) piece of doo-doo.

Don't get me started.

I loved the movie, but I know what you mean about Keira Knightly! It was ghastly!
