I've been noticing lately that anytime an alarm goes off be it mine or SO's Skye will come running up to the bed and immediately will shove her head under my neck purring up a storm. But it doesn't stop there she will push off SO to get her head even further under my neck sometimes choking me. What exactly is she doing by this? I've never seen a cat do this.

Do you get up and feed her after the alarm goes off? My little one knows he gets breakfast after the alarm buzzes...or maybe yours is just happy because you are awake and able to give attention? They do funny things, don't they?

Sounds kinda like she's pushing you up, maybe to get up and get breakfast?

It's a possibility but I get up and get ready before we even wander into the living room for a feeding.
