I think I recall reading somewhere that cats have a difficult time adjusting to temperature changes (i.e. running the heater at 70F during the day and 62-4F at night). Is this true? Anyone have any experience with this? I'd prefer to sleep with the temperature a little colder at night, but I don't think Beacon and Sox would like that.

WE sleep with the thermostat turned down every night and Abby has no problems.
We do have quite a few warm throws and beds around the house for her to sleep on and she also has a few electric heated pads.

I've never heard that before. I did notice there was a lot more sleeping in warm snuggle beds when we were at our last apartment and I had the programmable thermostat. Here we have electric heat (and some weird energy efficient thing that is similar to a radiator), so we keep the temperature constant.

They have fur - if an outdoor cat can handle the extremes of freezing temps, I think an indoor cat can handle a 10 degree shift in temps.

We turn the heat down during the day to about 62, up in the evenings to 68. The cats sleep all day, and not once have they complained to me that it's too cold.
