Roxy's only done this two or three times since yesterday, I think she might have a furball stuck or something....

She crouches down, then does a few little coughs like when she's got a furball, then stops, sits back up and carries on like nothing's happened.

She's doing everything else normally, eating, playing, pooping, etc.

I took her outside so she could eat some grass if she wanted to, but she didn't.

I'll keep an eye on her and if she keeps doing it I'll give the vets a call. Hopefully she'll pass whatever it is soon. I do have some catalax which is supposed to help, but I don't want to give it to her yet.

How do I tell if it's a cough?

She's not doing it when she's running around, both times that she did it she'd just been walking about or sitting still.

Hello, I just wanted to bump this up a bit as no one has replied. Roxy woke me up coughing in the night, the same, like she was trying to cough up a furball. I getting worried about her.

Rosie does that now and again and usually it is a fur ball. She coughs like that if she's been drinking from the tap like she was last week, then a small fur ball was found in the spare room.

Have you gave Roxy some Laxitone?. I rub some on the kids paws every 2 weeks because sometimes they need a bit help in getting rid of it

Thanks Susan!
Roxy was coughing again in the middle of the night, so we took her to the vets this morning. She has a tickly cough, poor girl. DH took her, so I'll find out more later. She's had an injection and she'll start some medecine from thursday. I was wondering where she got it from (she only goes out about once a week!) and if it might be contagious to Villy?

I'm interested to know now?.

Why does she have to wait until thursday to start taking her meds?. It might be worth a quick phone call to the vet just to make sure Villy's ok being around her?.

Lots of healthy coming the little pumpkins way

Hi, apparently she's not contagious. She has to wait until tomorrow to start her meds as she had an injection yesterday to start her off.

She's still coughing :-(

The vet said that her glands were up, and when he was running his fingers over her throat it made her cough, so her throat is probably sore too.

I feel so sorry for my poor girl!
I hope the meds start working soon.

I've never heard of a cat having a sore throat and a cough before, only kennel cough in dogs.....
