I finally weighed the 18 day old kittens I am helping take care of. Out of the six, four of them are between 290-320 grams. But the other two are considerably smaller. One male is 270g while the smallest is only 250g. Is he too small for his age? I am not sure if he is getting enough while he is nursing. Do you think there is any problem with his weight, or is he fine? Thanks so much! :-)

Actually at almost 9 ounces he is about normal!! Here's what I got for info, keep in mind that there are 28 grams in an ounce! (which I had to look up
)

AVERAGE KITTEN WEIGHT

AGE IN DAYS WEIGHT

1 2 1/2- 4 3/4 oz
5 3-7 oz
10 4 1/2 - 9 3/4 oz
15 6- 11 3/4 oz
20 7 1/2 - 14 1/2 oz
25 8- 16 3/4 oz

I hope this helps!! Sorry it took so long to answer, but figuring out the gram thing confused me!

Oh by the way, you can find this info at

on page 6!!

My cat Elsa had a litter of 8 kittens that at 3 weeks weighed between 8.9 oz and 5 oz.! I think that's 252 to 141.7 grams. So I think your kitties are probably right on!

Thanks so much glitch and kluchetta . I could tell when I picked the smaller two up that they were lighter than the rest, but I wasn't sure if they were undernourished or not. I'm very relieved that they are ok though! :-)

They definitely have full little tummies when I pick them up! They are so adorable! :-)
