I hope that your Mom will be okay, and that it's nothing too serious.

Thanks everyone! I'll hopefully know more tomorrow when we go to see her. I've got to clean the house tomorrow, do the bills, take care of the kitties, and make something to eat for her before going.

I'll keep you updated as I find out.

I just called my mom and she told me that they thought it was a very small clot, so that is a good thing. However, the night shift nurse is not doing a good job taking care of her and that makes me mad.

I will probably file a complaint when I get there. If she has to do everything herself while she is there, she doesn't need to be there. What good is a nurse that doesn't do her job?

Definately complain, and before she's out of there. They're paid to do their jobs so they better be doing them.

Personally, I'm pretty independent so I wouldn't let any of the nurses help me with much. But that didn't stop them from checking in every hour to hour and a half.

I hope she gets to feeling better and can get out of there soon. It's certainly no fun to have to deal with all that and poor treatment too.

It was only THAT particular night nurse that was a problem. She would do things for herself, however, she was on a very short IV line and could barely get to the bathroom.

She told the doctor and now that she can eat, she doesn't need to be hooked up so I'm much happier now that she can get up and move around when she wants.

She is doing a little better. They have been giving her some meds for the swelling so it might just be a matter of time when she feels better.

I hope she can get out in a few days.

They have been giving her blood thinners to have the clot dissolve naturally. They are also checking the fluid in her stomach today. Hopefully, she can go home tomorrow.

Her legs are still swollen, but she looks a lot better and she said she slept more last night.
