My guys know each other, and maybe I want too much. But would the vanilla dab improve relations between Spike and Pansy? They both are pals with Fang, but not fans of each other. they will get into skirmishes sometimes, that get very angry. I usually give one of them a time out on the porch to cool off.

I want us all to love each other, and was wondering if this would be applicable?

There's no place like home
My opinion? Vanilla gets them to the point of acceptance and tolerance but won't take them to the point of "friends". All of my cats tolerate each other. Some of them will never be buddies.

If you try it, I'd love to hear if it works.

I only use vanilla after vet visits. They come home smelling of so many different things and I want to defuse anyone getting picked on just because they smell different. So for a couple of hours everyone smells like cookies.

Probably not. Usually it only works when you first introduce them. If they all have been together for awhile, its just their personalities. But you can try it and see what happens.

I've never tried this and will be bringing new babies in in about a week or two.

do you nab it on top of their nose? the furry part?
seems like it would be too strong if you put it directly on their nose?

I dab a little on the back at the base of their tails and under the chin just to confuse the nose.

I have the weird furries that love the vet. The dogs recognize both the word vet and the name of the vet - their tails start wagging and they will run to the door leading to the garage. The cats love the attention they get there, but they don't yet recognize the words. They have had no issues with the vet smell.

What about a Feliway difuser to see if it mellows the guys out?

That's how I've heard it should be applied. Never had to do it though, mine had an easy intro and don't care about vet or cat show smells.

Well the vanilla is dark, and if the cat has a white chin it may stain a bit. Maybe just put a small dab on the top of the nose on the fur/edge.
