Simone the kitten is like a velociraptor. She runs at full speed, launching herself into the air and landing like velcro on my leg. Then she climbs up to my shoulder.

This often hurts.

She has these tufts of fur on her head, just below her ears that remind me of those hissing, running dinosaurs on Jurassic Park. If she isn't launching herself at us full speed, she's biting bare feet.

I can get her to stop the feet biting, but the launching thing...is always a surprise ambush. I need to buy stock in Neosporin.

I try to get her off of me when she starts to climb saying "No!" which is pretty much what I do when she does the foot biting, but it isn't as effective when she's hanging from my leg, claws dug in.

How do you stop terrorist kitten behavior?

Kittens are extremely playful and your Simone is no exception.
You may have to divert her energy towards more toys and be consistent in discouraging bad behavior. I take it you allowed her launching, clinging and climbing to the shoulder before now?
Saying No is not enough. Get her off your leg the moment she starts, hiss, blow on her face and say No. Then walk away, ignoring her. If she persists, do the whole thing all over again. In time she will get the hint.
Remember though to stick to the rules. If even once you let Simone do the climbing again, you will end up with a very confused and disobedient cat.

[Hands Bella the tube of Neosporin]

Simone is quiet today. Just got her first set of shots. A very sleepy kitty.

I have an adult cat that does that except he launches himself onto a table or windowsill at full speed, sometimes down the stairs.

I honestly think he's hyperactive but were so used to it it doesnt bother us and he isnt hurting anyone or himself just having fun.
He loves his toys too and scratching tower!

If you have to get her off your leg, grab her by the tuft of her neck, this is what mom cat does and does not hurt. When you grab her by the tuft of her neck she should release and curl up, pick her up still holding her there and other hand cuffing back. Then tell her no, enough, calm down, remember to keep a calm but assertive tone, never call there names during this since this means come or attention. It is best to stop the action before it happens, if you see she is wound up, corner her, hands flat out up to down, "calm down" a few times till she drop s her tail, relaxes a little bit. It is very disrespectful to climb up your leg like that, she doesn't know better at this point, shes a kitten and now you are mom. It is very important to think like mom kitty would, what would she do?
