I'm trying to figure out what kind of cat I have. A single breed can have so many variations in appearance that it's hard to tell what is what sometimes.

He's adorable! What's his name? Looks like a standard domestic longhair bi-color ( orange and white) to me.

You have a beautiful cat!
Might be a Turkish Angora.
Why not ask your Vet?

Thank you for the comments, everyone! I always forget to ask the vet because the visits are quite stressful for us both. My wife thinks he is part Angora, actually. His name is Bailey, since he was the colours of Bailey's and cream when we got him. He's a strange cat; ultra-affectionate towards me, but intensely distrustful of visitors and given to going completely feral in high-stress situations. Yet we've had him since he was a kitten, and I don't know where we went wrong...

Hi, welcome to TCS!

TCS has several forums, including a Behavior forum, were you might want to post a thread regarding your concerns about Bailey's fears.

You would probably receive more specific feedback about this issue there.

As you learn your way around our site, if you have questions, I would be happy to help you. Feel free to contact me by clicking on my user name, then send a Private Message.
I will get back to you asap.
