We are going away for 5 days at the end of February.
We were out for 3 days before and cats were fine.
How did everybody manage during holidays?

Here is my situation.
4 cats live in my 25 x 25 bedroom. They are family (mom and three 8 months old kittens).
I don't worry about food and water since I have dispenser.
They were former feral and donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t really crave human attention either.
I am worried about litter box.
I could set extra littler box out….
Or, invest on LitterMaid??? (I don't really want to do it just for that....)

Have you ever left your cat for that long without anybody looking after them?
I don't have anybody to ask for doing littler box cleaning….

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
I would never leave my cats that long without supervision - too many things can happen.

You can call the vet to ask for a reference to a pet-sitting service. At our vet's, quite a few of the vet techs do this.

I'm sure you can also search on-line to find someone to clean litter boxes and check in on them.

You can leave one or two extra litter boxes out. But IMO anything over 3 days - you should have someone come in once a day and check on things, etc.

I have 2 litter boxes for 1 cat and 1 kitten.
You use 1 litter box for all of yours?
I have never left my cats alone that long.

Thanks for your advise.
I will defintely look for cat sitter.

I already have cat cam (network camera) set up in the room so I can peek in any time, anywhere.

So, 1 week, no one cleans the litter box and they are OK?
If you are gone for more than 1 week you have soneone to come?

Personally, I think they will manage 5 days if I set more littler box for them...

Putting out a couple extra boxes will help, but I would pay someone to come in mid week, to scoop, freshen the water, and give it a look. My pet sitter just charges 15 a visit, and does a great job.

They are ok for that no. of days, if i am going to be mising for longer than a week then they have a cat sitter which i have to bring from far away... i do not live in a very populated place and people here are not to be trusted with cats so that is my problem...
5 days with enough litter boxes is ok

Thank for your help.

I got some response from my work group cat enthusiasts for help also.
I just don't feel comfortable of having stranger coming in to my house.
Yet my friends and family don't care for animals....

I will have to think about what's best for my kitties.

You should be able to trust a licensed pet sitter. There is a website to search and your vet can refer you. They will come out ahead of time so you can meet them. You will have all their credentials, address, etc. so if they steal your tv, you will know where to find them.
I would make sure I had a licensed professional though, if you don't have a friend to do it.
