I had to go to the capital today to participate in Nurses Unity Day. It's kind of funny that they call it that because basically the only ones there are nursing students, which is wonderful that they are there, but they are not nurses yet. They should call it Nursing Student Unity Day. Anyway, there were a few of us that were already nurses (of course, we were BSN students and assorted nursing instructors) there, but I learned something very valuable today. One of the WV Nursing Association leaders is not even a nurse! I don't understand how he could be in such a high position and not be a nurse! He was also extremely condescending and rude so that may have skewed my view of him a bit, but how would you feel if someone who doesn't understand the intricacies of your position, be it a job, a club, anything, was leading you association?
