.... to tell your s/O, DH, b/f precisely what you felt for him, in a few words as possible.... If you wanted to make sure it was something he would remember forever, that if you passed on from this world and you wanted to make sure he knew just how much you loved him...... what would you say?

I am looking for very specific inspiration - I am writing a song for my DH for our wedding as a surprise gift (he loves to hear me sing and loves it more when I write the music in the first place) - so I need some real smushy stuff coming from you girls. Something to really wrench the heartstrings
(I wanna make him cry!
) So can you finish this sentence for me?

"If I don't make it home, I want you to know.........."

Nuh uh...might give me away!
You are (were) the best of me.
My life is (was) full of you. (Kind of going with the idea that people are more comfortable with others passing if they lived a full life.)
That's all I can come up with without being too cliche.

I'd love to hear it (if possible) once you've finished.

Ok mushy stuff... well I had this inscribed inside his wedding band "Love is most valuable when it it a struggle to achieve" On our vows was something to the effect of "My love is safe in your heart". And some of my own random thoughs about my husband... I feel safe with you. You are MY perfect man. You may not be my first love but you are my BEST love! I want to grow old with you. My heart still flutters at the site/thought of you. You make me weak in the knees. You know the true me. You accept & love me for who I am. I want to tell you everything.

and to finish your sentance...
"If I don't make it home, I want you to know that I have never loved (and will never love again) as deeply and truly as I love you!"

It's a really good start ladies, keep it coming!! I'll be sure to post lyrics once they're finished - I have a friend with a small recording studio, and she's promised a long time ago to help me record the music. She's an amazing musician, so I'd not ask for anyone else
Perhaps I'll be able to get it rigged up so you can hear it!

That's easy for us - cause it was part of the wedding vows.

"I'll love you till the end of time"

We changed the "death do you part" to - "end of time"

I like that. Our vows weren't traditional in any way but I did change the end. Originally it was "for your love has made me complete." Well, neither of us like the idea of being "completed" by another person. I was whole before I met him and will be whole after him (if that time comes). So, I change it to "for your love is safe in my heart."

If you want to read the rest of our ceremony (there's some good mushy stuff in there) PM me and I'll be happy to share it with you.

I like that a lot. When I got married (long ago and briefly), I persuaded the minister to change the reference to marriage as an institution to be entered into "reverently and in fear of God" to "reverently and in awe of God." He seemed worried about me, but he let me do it.
