I have been washing my cats about once every 4-6 weeks. However, recently I found that I have developed cat allergy. I know that washing the cats more often will help, but how often can I wash my cats? They don't like being washed and I don't want to traumatize them more than necessary.

You can bathe them once a week if you're conditioning their coats also and using a gentle shampoo. But another option is this stuff you can get called Allergy Relief. It has worked well for me in the past and I've known a lot of people that have had good luck with it. You can find it in most pet stores.

Another option instead of weekly bathing is wiping down the cat daily using a damp towel and distilled water.

I recommend you use a daily wipe (with washcloth) on the cats - but use DISTILLED drinking water - that seems to cut down on the allergins and many people that have tried it have good results.

The cats don't mind getting wiped down with a washcloth in a little water vs. a full soaking bath.

You might also want to comb thru the fur and dip the comb in the water to help get to the skin.

Once a month works great for me! I'm allergic to cats and as long as they have their monthy bath I'm peachy!!!
