Hello! I am new to this forum and thought you may be able to give me some insight to my new kittens weird pee pattern.

I got him from the pound, he is now 4 months old. He is neutered. When he came home from the pound he was very sick with the worst cold i have ever seen a cat have.

He is much better now of course but he randomly pees on the blankets on our bed. He always does it when we are home too. No UTI (got that checked) he usess his litter box regularly and does pee in it but every now and again he will be on the blankets. (I would say he has done it at least 5 times in the last 2 months we have had him). I thought it was b/c his box wasn't clean but he even does it when I clean out his box regularly (every day, dump and put in new sand evry other day). He mostly pees on my husbands side, even when he is laying under the blanket. I thought it was the type of blanket that made him do it but he pees on all types of fabrics and blankets!! I'm not sure how to scold him with this either.

Plus he plays in his cat box like its a toy box. Chasing his tail and batting at the sand. He full of spunk. I am afraid to scold him for playing in his catbox for fear of him stopping using it all together. I usually just distract him and lear him out of it somehow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have raised cats all my life and am puzzled with this one.

Sorry this is long! Thanks in adance!!

When was he checked for a UTI? If it was while he had his cold, and he was on antibiotics, sometimes coming off antibiotics makes them have a UTI. Not too sure-I'll leave this up to the experts.
Good luck with him though, he sounds like a real character!
