Today I adopted a new kitty from the local shelter. After getting her home and relaxed away from my other two cats I was able to play with her and see her really moving around, something not easy to do at the shelter do to limited space and a lot of animals.
The first thing I noticed was her back end seemed to have a side to side wobble when she walked or chased a toy around. When I could get a look at her standing still her back feet seemed to be turned outward, the left foot more than the right. It is not so extreme that you notice without knowing to look for it but they do appear to be turned out. I checked my other two cats to see how they walk and there was a definate difference plus the wobble is noticeable.
I had already scheduled her to see my vet tomorrow to get her checked out by someone other than the shelter staff so I will definitely bring it up with him. My question for those that may have experience with this is if they are turned out will there be any long term problems that will come about because of it? I have no problem keeping her even though she may have the problem I am just curious what long term problems there might be.
