What is a good flushable cat litter? And are they completely safe for septic tanks? Thanks guys!

I personally wouldn't trust any flushable litter to be used with my septic system.
The possibility of system failure and repair isn't worth it for the convenience.

I agree. WBCL is supposed to be flushable but I only tried once and almost clogged my toilet so I won't be doing that again.

Tried that one too - to get a few clumps down one needed several flushes. What a waste of water! I just do not have the patience nor conscience to do every piddle one at a time.... and who wants to stand in the toilet that long???

I use wood pellets and they are flushable, and also, I get rid of the big 'poohs' and then the other stuff 'liquids' I'll just spread around because the wood pellets soak it up really well, and then when it gets really saw dusty I'll flush some down

WBCL has been working good for me.
I flush 4 cats' waste everyday in single flush.

For what it's worth, my plumber told me that if I, as a human, did not digest the material, it should not go down the toilet (well, other than a little TP). I wouldn't chance it, no matter what the label says, especially with a septic field. But, good luck!

I agree with your plumber for the most part, although I do admit to flushing some leftover sauces rather than put the runny stuff in the garbage.

It would be wonderful to be able to flush all the litter. When I got my first cat I was using a flushable litter. Now with 2 I'm just afraid of blocking sewer lines. Our mgmt. co. has advised not to even flush flushable bathroom wipes. I also flush things like left over tomato sauce, any soft item. I have had no problems so far.
