My dad asked me to ask you guys about this.
They have been feeding authority brand beef for awhile now, but mom brought home the presidents choice beef.
It is "nutrition first" and has all of the same ingredients in the same order as authority, but has the additives of carrageenan and potassium chloride at the end of the list. They were wondering what these do and if it is healthy for their cats.
Thanks

Potassium chloride is = to potassium for a salt

carrageenan is a gum used to thicken .... it is derived from seaweed ... there is a debate on its use ... I dont avoid it ( well that would be hard ) but I will pass on a food if it is high up in ingrediants

here is the wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrageenan

thanks sharky!
they're too snowed in to get to any good food stores right now, but I'm thinking that they're considering switching over what with the lack of by-products and the cheaper price. I can't say I will be though.
Lots of salt in that one, by the sounds of it.
