Video Editing

I have some videos taken with my little Canon but they need to be edited a bit before posting. I have never done this. Does anyone know of a freeware program that would be simple to use?

I do have an older version of Macromedia Fireworks that came with Dreamweaver but not sure if that is a video editor. Only needed Dreamweaver for the one class I took

It depends what kind of editing you want to do, it could be something as simple as changes in Windows Movie Maker or similar or more indepth needing more advanced software.

Just something simple to cut off say, the boring beginning and end of clips. Cats never get interesting on my schedule

I just do that in Windows Movie Maker
