Yeah... and anyone that's been arrested for domestic violence. If I ever date again I'll be breaking into the wallet of the person, taking out their drivers license and doing a back ground check.

To be very honest, I'd have a hard time dating some one with children. (Please don't flame me)

I totally understand.
Thats just opening a huge can of worms, what with the ex wife/gf, the knowledge that you have to provide stability for their kids and so have to be aiming for a long term relationship, plus the kids may/probably will hate you at first, and what do you do if you want to have a baby, but he's had all the kids he wants?
And i don't even like kids

I couldn't date a hunter. Luckily, I haven't had that problem yet. Also couldn't date a conservative - I think any passion there would be directed towards arguments, and nothing more fun

Thanks god... that puts my dad out!
He's an atheist lawyer!
And as of right now I'm following in his foot steps to a lesser degree. Currently agnostic and working on becoming a paralegal.

Fortunately my husband is pretty much perfect for me but if I ever have to hit the dating scene again I'll probably steer clear of military men and anyone else who puts their life at risk on a daily basis. Not that I don't have a great respect and appreciation for these people I just couldn't build a life with them knowing that they may not be a part of it for as long as I'd like. Perhaps it's selfish but I've dated and ex-marine (he was nuts!) and a firefighter and the later worried me. I hated it when tones went out and he had to leave on a call.

I wouldn't date:

Some one who didn't LOVE animals
Some one who had no sense of humor
A body builder....they are SOOOO stuck on themselves
Or a police officer....same reason as a body builder

I will not date:

1. Someone older them me.
2. Someone who smoked, gambled, or drank
3. Someone who abuses people or animals.
4. Someone that did not believe in God and didn't have strong faith.

I made the mistake the first time around. My ex husband smoked/drank, and did some gambling (lottery). That was part of the issues for divorce - main one being he was abusive to me (especially when drinking). Plus he was 8 yrs older then me.

DH doesn't do any of that (#2) and he's younger. And we both have a strong faith in God.

Oh and I also vowed never to date someone who had been in the Vietnam war as a lot of them are messed up - may have been part of my ex's problems; so that's why I would not date older.

I would not date:
A MARRIED man ( tho' many have tried, not that I'm hot stuff. fat and now middle aged
)
Liars or Cheaters
Verbally or Physically abusive, controlling or domineering men (got my head straight on that one)
someone who didn't respect my brains and ability. I won't hide my light under a bushel-basket for ANYONE.
Someone who plays games.
Someone I am not physically attracted to.
A cheapskate, tho' my current squeeze is weird about $... he has come to realize that I am not out to take him to the cleaners.
Someone who doesn't like to talk/communicate - you know - man of few words. That's exhausting to keep up a conversation!!

I could go on, but you guys get the picture.

In return, a man gets a funny, loving, warm, caring, intelligent woman who can and loves to cook!! Who loves new experiences, finds the joy in little things and loves animals and children. Oh yeah, and a hot temper!!

Not to sound contrary, but I am dating some one shorter than me. Good things come in small packages.

If I were to end up single again...I would not date:
1-Anyone with no job and lives at home in the parent's basement.
2-Anyone without a job.
3-Anyone with little kids. Been there, done that- and he was cheating with the baby sitter.

4-Anyone who doesn't like cats.

That's about it.

LOL @ the computer issues. My DH and I solved that---we now have 4 computers.
So we can use different ones rather than argue.

Over the river and through the woods...
2 types of men I will never date. One, a man who is more worried about appearances than having fun. You know the type...the kind that always has to look "perfect" and his wife/gf has to always look "perfect" too. I'm sorry, I go to the market in sweats and I'm not planning on changing!

Two, a man who thinks the world owes him something. About 10 years ago, I had a girl try to fix me up with a friend. He seemed like a nice guy at first. Clean..dressed a bit grungy and needed a haircut, but that was the style then. Then we started talking and I asked him what he did. He looked at me like I was stupid! I said "as in, where do you work?" "Oh, I don't work". Ok, so I thought he might be between jobs or didn't want to say what he did (I was working as a waitress, so he couldn't have been intimidated by that!). A little later I told him they were hiring at my job and he informed me he has no intention of working. He had a job 5 years before and was let go, got unemployement and enjoyed it so much he decided to go on welfare. His attitude was "the state didn't find me another job so I will take their paycheck". Needless to say, we did NOT go out! (Nothing against people on welfare who needs it....but it's not a career choice!)

Oh, that's sad. Men are a pain but a nice one is good to have around. Finding one is,indeed ,the big trick....

Ahhh....my kind of girl!

I'm 21....and right now good to be single furr-ever. I've never lived on my own, in my own place....so it might change once I'm out on my own.

But, yeah....girl power rules!

No hardcore bikers, no one in a band, no car salesmen, no liars, no creeps, no possesive domineering types, no cheaters, no beaters, no insecure verbally abusive bullies, no sexists who won't pitch in around the house. Call me picky but I've learned some interesting lessons.

Hire a manservant. Someone to get things off of tall shelves/ carry heavy bags/ act as crowd clearance in busy areas/ make you nice drinks and yummy meals. Thats all you really need a man for anyway
