I have a rescue (my first cat), who is spayed. She has some clear drainage from her genital area, with a strong odor. Is this normal? She is,after a year, still a nervous wreck and hard to get her to come or come near except for a minute at a time.

Its a good call to get any new addition a check up regardless. If it turns out to be stress related, at least youll know shes healthy. If it turns out to be something worse, you can get it taken care of right away! Also a good chance to establish a relationship with the vet of your choice
Good luck hope shes ok

I would be taking her to a vet. No discharge is good - she may have an infection or her anal glands may be the culprit. If it's the anal glands they can burst so I advise you take her in to see the vet.

Sounds like the anal glands to me, I would get her into a vet to get that taken care of. If that is all it is, the vet can show you how to express the anal glands so you don't have to bring her back in next time.
