Hi, I am new here and came here to learn more about cats. I am getting a siamese kitten in 2 days and have yet to come up with a name.It is a female and the parents are seal point siamese. I tend to like cutsie names, food names, and names that kind of go with how my pets look. I have read some of the names on the forum and so far kind of like Jasmine, Skittles, Ginger, Apple. Please help and suggest some names for me as I am running out of time. This is really my first cat so I am at a loss........

Samosa or Pikora is a cute food name for a siamese. they're little indian dumpling-like things.

I like food names too. I named my mom's cat Pita

don't forget to post pics of your cutie when you get her!

Loving my beautiful baby girl
We're looking forward to seeing your new little girl's picture, that will really help us in finding a name for her. I find so often they name themselves as you get to know each other!

Yin and Yang?

I try to name my cats based on their personality and also incorporating the initial of one I love that has passed.

Spike is a bad ass, plus the sp stands for my bridge baby Sparky.

Fang is kinda different. I got him after Spike, and I wanted another tough name, plus he has a broken incissor.
So his formal name is Fangless, FAng for short, and the F is for father.

Pansy just could not be named a tough guy because he is.. err.. quite frankly a Pansy.
And the P stands for Paul, my father's first name.

What about Kinnaree? In Thai legend the kinnaree is half woman (front half) and half swan (legs, wings, tail). She is known for her excellence in dancing, music and singing. Considering how gracefull and talkative Siamese cats are I think this would be a great name.

You could even play with nicknames like Naree, Kinny, Reeree, etc.

Under the cats, mostly.
Don't name your little baby until you see him/her. They'll soon show you their personality - and sometimes a name will just spring to you
We actually have an animal communicator at our shelter and sometimes when a cat is really down, we have her in to have a "little chat" with them to see what's up. It's funny how well it really works.

We had a cat come in who was called "Bastian". He was brought to us because his owners couldn't control his behaviour and then he got really depressed and disruptive. They figured out that he was stressed, and thought that the best thing would be for him to find a home where he would feel more comfortable. Turns out that he didn't like the name Bastian. When he was "asked" which name he would rather have, he told our communicator that he would like to be called "Hannibal". We changed his name - and literally 5 minutes later, he didn't respond to "bastian" and his character changed for the positive in an instant!
We were stunned! I've tried it a few times, and if you "ask" the first name that comes to mind is usually what they want
Call me strange if you like, I know it works

I'm not really sure, but I think you have to be a member for a certain period of time and have a certain number of posts before you can post pictures.

Unfortunately I don't know what those limits are.

actually, if you store your pix remotely, like a photobucket or flickr account, you can post now. i think the limitation is for attached images. i personally use photobucket. it's free - i think flickr is, too, but i can't access it from school due to the firewall, & i can get to photobucket just fine.

You can alway give the little darling a Siamese/Thai name. I googled "Siamese cat names" and several sites popped up with lists.
