if anyone saw the prequel to Lonesome Dove.

I wonder if anyone knows why women that were raped by native americans were "ruined" to the point that the husbands who loved them wouldn't touch them anymore.

anybody know why?

Women were seen as property. Therefore any woman who was intimate with, or raped by, another man was seen as violated property. When you add in the fact that many people saw Indians as "less than" or as savages then it becomes worse to the white man's way of thinking.

I haven't seen this movie. Does it say anything about the many Indian women who were raped and tortured by white men? Just curious.
