I have two best friends, one male, one female.

My male best friend was livid to hear that I got nothing for Christmas, and even though I told him it was ok, because really, I didn't care, he insisted on getting me something.

Now, my tastes are rather weird, I suppose eclectic would be a nicer way of saying it.

Toby totally understands me and today, in the mail, I received my late gift from him.

It is a renaissance style hardened leather tankard, burgundy in color and embossed with a griffin.
It's totally awesome, and totally usable too.

I'll have to post some pics of it when I get batteries for my camera.

It totally made my day.

Isn't it great to have someone that "gets" you

That is so cool!! I just wanted to ask what it is like having a close male friend? Do you tell him everything you would a female friend? But mostly (and you don't have to answer this) I am wondering if you have every been romanticly attracted to him? I am married and I love my husband but I wouldn't say we are best friends as there are things I never tell him. Like how much I paid for my two Ragdoll cats lol.

Yes, I tell him everything, it's great to get a male perspective on some things.
He tells me everything as well.
I've never been romantically attracted to him, he's totally not my type in that department, nor am I his type

I have a friend like that too!! I am the one that always gets her the gift that is so "her" every year. This year I asked her if she just wanted something practical since she was about to move. She was very against it--she said that I am the one person who gets her and always gives her something that she finds truly cool. I was so flattered!! She also usually gives me something cool!
