I have the share an embarrassing moment!

I was trying to catch up with some shows I had taped over the last couple of evenings. I didn't get done before Law and Order: Criminal Intent came on, so I turned off the video so I could watch it.

I turned my head for a second and when I looked back I saw something on the show then tried to rewind to see what I had missed leading up to that point. It didn't rewind. So I pressed rewind again and still nothing happened. By this time they are doing their promo intro song and I'm madly pressing the rewind button and pointing the remote all over the room! Thinking the batteries were dead I put new ones in and tried again... still nothing. By this time there are commercials.

Turns out that I was rewinding the tape in the VCR and the show I was trying to rewind was in real time on the TV At least I know my remote works!

OMG I've done that before too

I've done the opposite... I'm watching a recording (I have DVR from my cable company) and routinely forget I'm watching a recording. When it comes to a commercial break, I hit my Back button to watch another show. when it goes from recording to live, there' a pause as it switches over... then I realize it...

Been there... you're not alone...

Well, it didn't help that the show I was watching on VHS was also a Law and Order episode, so basically I went from one Law and Order episode to another and forgot that I wasn't watching my VHS tape anymore. It was too funny though.
