~~Sadie~~

This morning was a really hard morning, Sadie passed away through the night. The hardest part about losing her is that I never had a chance to say goodbye to her, I could not be there for her final moments. The strangest thing is that I actually had a good nights sleep, I never sleep well.....
Last night I held her and had my last moments, but I knew somehow that she would not be around much longer. I had her scheduled to be put down on the weekend. I wanted to see her close her eyes, to give her one last rub on her belly, to tell her that I would miss my beautiful girl. To tell her that I did everything that I could for her....
We buried her in on my father inlaw's property. In fact I just came back from there. I was not able to give her a proper burial as the ground here is frozen solid, but did manage to give her a peaceful spot. She is laying under an evergreen tree, next to a pond, looking at the rocky mountains. It will be nice to go and visit with her and know that she is resting in a safe place. She was my first pet, but not my last. I am not sure how to deal with closure, I just can't get the image of her out of my head, how I found her this am. But if I could place her in the deepest part of my heart, I know she is with my always.

You are right, Sadie will be in your heart forever. It sounds like she has a wonderful resting place and so nice that you will be able to visit with her and tell her about your day

Just wanted to say thanks so much to TCS, and everyone whom responded and simply read my thread. I absolutley love the support, this site is amazing....

It is awful when we can't say goodbye properly. But at least Sadie had the privilege of love till the end, and of being spared a traumatic journey to the vet. And you had an instinct that she was going, so remember that last cuddle as an expression of all that you shared. RIP Sadie

I'm am so sorry for your loss.
I think that animals can make a choice about when they want to go. I believe that Sadie loved you and knew that you loved her. She may have even been trying to spare you the pain of having to make that final decision that no pet parent ever wants to make.

So sorry about your Cat. When Lucy died I was at work and my Sister called and said she is bad and she died in the Truck on the way to Er. I never saw her again. I just lost 2 other Cats that were young too. I see your Cat wasnt old either. I am here if you ever want to talk.
